Basalt is hardened dark volcanic lava, which holds heat very well while also easily giving it back to the body. During this exchange, toxins are also carried away more quickly so that they can be eliminated from your system.
These treatments should not be performed on anyone with open wounds or who has had surgery within the last three months. If you have high blood pressure, sensitivity to heat, varicose veins, or are pregnant, hot stone therapy is not recommended for you.
